Dementia and Cow???

"Dementia (from Latin de- "apart, away" + mens (genitive mentis) "mind") is the progressive decline in cognitive function due to damage or disease in the brain beyond what might be expected from normal aging."

A 72 year-old-woman admitted yesterday, claiming to be of Ukrainian origin into our psych dept in Volgograd. The story was she came here in attempt to find her daughter who work here in Volgograd. Psych interview revealed the dementia status as patient loss ability to recall important personal info such as age, marital status, no of kids. It shall be note however, patient recollection of her experience during WWII, when she ran away from the Nazi army is clear and logical, though unverified.

Well, at least that what was told to us by our doctor..
the truth is....i cant comprehend even a single word, as :-
1. people with dementia tend to talk out of pattern, though grammatically correct
2. she's got this accent, that might indicate that she's really a Ukrainian...
3...... or perhaps, its just because she got no teeth left, so the pronunciation is a little bit hard for my Russian-deaf ears to catch

anyway, tomorrow I shall be examining her....so, right now I'm actually try to recollect the way she spoke this morning...so, maybe I can decipher what she really said instead of copying what I might heard (such as, for e.g "My daughter work as pie in a milk of cow")

What next?
